Dr. Judi E. Hughes

Greetings!
It has been a blessing having the opportunity to get to know and work with the SACS Staff as well as the parish communities. I come to St. Andrew Catholic School with more than 40 years of experience with the Lee County School System as a former teacher, principal and district director for both elementary and secondary education.

I grew up in Connecticut and moved to Fort Myers in 1964. I attended and graduated from Fort Myers High School and am a true GATOR and proud graduate from the University of Florida in Gainesville.

During my tenure with the Lee County School District, I was honored as a Principal of a National School of Excellence, a recipient of the Florida Commissioner’s Outstanding Principal Award and as an Outstanding Educator by the University of Florida – College of Education. I received my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from NOVA Southeastern University and earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida.

My goals for SACS include:

  • incorporation of Catholic Identity into every aspect of the curriculum
  • enriched program offerings through an infusion of the Primary Years International Baccalaureate and a
  • STREAM initiative which places an emphasis on Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Math
  • increased enrollment
  • enhanced instructional technology
  • establish a facilities plan that promotes a safe, secure, and welcoming environment
  • a strengthened school-based Evangelization (Building Faith, Hearts and Minds)

Thank you for all of your prayers and support!

Empowering students through academic excellence, inquiry, global awareness, and the teachings and traditions of the Catholic faith.
